60 years ago, the construction of a new city of Kukes began.
In parallel, shelters were built in every corner of the city in order to preserve the population in case of war.
Shelters today have been turned into private places being used by residents or businesses, where in case of war it is difficult to serve.
The former director of special shelter works in the city, Hakik Visha, “shows that these places planned for the safety of the population today are out of order and all have been turned into businesses or places used by family members as their property.”
Furthermore, Visha demands “the return of these shelters for the population as well as their immediate cleaning, as Kukës, being a border point, poses a danger. “Setting up a working group would be the right way to get these jobs back.”
