Kurti talks about the request of QUINT countries for the implementation of the constitutional decision for the Monastery of Deçan

The Prime Minister of the country, after today’s meeting of the Government, where the decision was made to facilitate anti-COVID measures, was also asked about the request of QUINT to implement the decision for the Monastery of Deçan.

“The issue of land ownership around the Monastery was not decided by any relevant court and the Constitutional Court, I believe that I should not have made a decision on a case without consuming all other legal levels. The Decani Monastery, as we all know, is part of a rich cultural mosaic of Kosovo. Unfortunately, the Serbian Orthodox Church is the one that has been repeatedly misused by Serbia as a political instrument against Kosovo and the Albanians. “We will do our utmost to preserve the legitimate rights of the Monastery, but also the religious leaders of the Monastery to do their part by seeking solutions through dialogue and agreement with the local population, and I believe that such a thing is possible.” he said, transmits KP.

Kurti has reiterated that he is ready to take part in talks with the Serbian side, whenever Brussels invites him.

He said that they are committed to a principled dialogue towards an agreement that focuses on mutual recognition.

Regarding the selection of the Chief State Prosecutor and the withdrawal of the British Embassy from the process, he said that Kosovo needs an active prosecutor.

“We as senior representatives of institutions and as executive officials should not contribute to reducing the credibility of the process. We have to wait for the selection of the decision to be taken. We need an active prosecutor who fights organized crime, crimes committed during the war, corruption, especially the high one in order for the democratic state of Kosovo to become a state of law, in which all citizens believe, because all without “differences are treated equally,” he said. / Telegraphy /
