The Ukrainian and Russian sides will hold another round of negotiations on Friday, but this time via a video link.
Ukraine continues to insist on the ceasefire agreement and demands security guarantees, while agreeing to agree on the status of being a neutral country and not to join NATO.
On the other hand before this meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov from India said that there is still no agreed agreement with Ukraine, but insisted that talks between the parties should continue.
At a news conference in New Delhi, Lavrov said there were indications as to Ukraine’s recognition that they could not be part of a bloc or the EU and could not have a nuclear status. He also claimed that there is now more understanding by the Ukrainians for Russia’s position in the Donbas and Crimea.
Following peace talks between the parties in Istanbul this week, Lavrov said Ukrainian officials had outlined their demands in a letter and the Kremlin was “preparing the answer”.
The Russian Foreign Minister is holding a meeting with Indian leaders in New Delhi with the aim of keeping Asian powers on her side.
