We were forced to do this, even to live in dictatorship, just as we were forced to belong to political families we did not elect, Europe is our first free choice and that is why we do not intend to give up. I think everyone should see it the same way we see it. Slovenians and Croats are many times ahead of us, history has been very generous with him. I believe that the Balkans is and will be a good country. We have a lot to learn from you but we have a lot to give to this initiative of this region. We want to promote peace and cooperation as much as we can. We absolutely want to not let ourselves be tempted by the ghosts of the past.
There is no good for us if we encourage divisions and tensions. We need to work together to make the lives of our people and our children in the Balkans better. Neighbors do not choose, once my grandmother told me, happy neighbor happy house, the opposite is just an anxiety. This is our home, Serbs will not go anywhere, neither Croats nor Slovenes. We need to grow and forget all the mess we have created, and not forget how much others have benefited at our expense. Today’s realities show what they can achieve through peace and cooperation and how great the loss is to invest in hatred and division. The road is very long for us, but we have come a long way. We are a fantastic place compared to how we were. we must never forget that we have a neighbor as good as Italy. Let us use this blessing to learn from our Italian brothers and neighbors.
