A 52-year-old Albanian man was arrested in Ecuador on Saturday afternoon, on suspicion of drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization.
Identified as Nezdet Vokshi, the Albanian with a Dutch passport was on the ‘red list’ and was wanted by Interpol.
Nezdet Vokshi was arrested while driving near a gas station on Avenue León Febres Cordero in Guayaquil. He has lived with his wife and daughter in Ecuador since 2018 and entered the country via Peru, hiding from authorities.

Despite being wanted for drug trafficking, the Albanian had started the wholesale fruit trade since the summer of 2019. He has been detained in Ecuador and the police there report that the necessary procedures are being carried out to start his extradition.
