The CEC announces this Thursday the final result of the March 6 local by-elections held in six municipalities.
The Socialist Party managed to get five municipalities out of six, while in Shkodra Bardh Spahia won, part of the “House of Freedom” coalition of Sali Berisha, LSI and PDK.
DP led by Lulzim Basha not only failed to get any municipality in these elections, but was declared the third force with fewer votes than Berisha’s coalition.
The March 6 elections had a great value for the democratic electorate, where it was expected to show the support of the Democrats who for months now have been divided on two fronts, those who support Basha and those who support Berisha.
The March 6 elections brought divisions within the DP, with most Democrats demanding Basha’s resignation and the holding of elections for a new president.
Winners of the March 6 elections in six municipalities of the country:
Vora- Blerim Shera PS (8,431 votes)
Rrogozhina- Edison Memolla PS (5,401 votes)
Lushnje- Eriselda Sefa PS (21,477 votes)
Dibër- Rrahim Spahiu PS (13,995 votes)
Durrës- Emirjana Sako PS (38,991 votes)
Shkodër- Bardh Spahia, House of Freedom coalition (19948 votes)
