The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha was received by a group of protesters in Durrës this Saturday, while he has planned a meeting with the Democrats.
Supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha loudly shout “Basha ik”, while some of them have clashed with the group that supports the leader of the Democratic Party.
The police had to intervene so that the conflict would not escalate further. Basha has arrived to meet the membership and PD supporters in this city.
The presence of numerous police forces has kept the situation under control. Berisha’s supporters have referred to Basha as a traitor and called on him to accept the result of the free vote of the Democrats.
The protest took place in the main square of Durrës, in front of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” theater, where Basha’s meeting with his supporters is currently being held, while the protesters continue to stay in the square.
