The Central Election Commission has reiterated the appeal addressed to the mayors of local government units to notify in writing the voters of the municipalities of Shkodra, Durres, Lushnja, Rrogozhina, Vora, Dibra where the by-elections of March 6, 2022 will take place.
“We are 5 days before the election date and reports to the CEC show that the municipalities of Shkodra and Rrogozhina are far from fulfilling this obligation arising from the Electoral Code, as the municipality of Dibra has notified all its voters to the extent of 100%.” stated in the notice.
Meanwhile, failure to notify voters in writing regarding election information (polling station, address and location of VC, ordinal number in the voter list) is sanctioned by administrative measures according to law.
“The CEC notes with concern that in the training sessions of the Central Election Commission has participated an incomplete number of members of the Voting Center Commissions that will be engaged in the by-elections of March 6, 2022”, the announcement follows.
The CEC calls on political parties to guarantee the full participation of the commissioners proposed by them. The CEC also addresses the commissioners themselves to participate in the CEC Trainings, as the training is vital for the smooth running of the voting process.
