The Director of the Directorate of Public Order, Zef Laska, informed today about the measures that will be taken by the State Police released during the match against Israel, which will take place tomorrow at 20:45, at the “Air Albania” stadium.
“To ensure the smooth running, as well as to guarantee public order and safety before, during and after this international football match, a total of 1300 police officers will be engaged.
The measures taken by the State Police consist of several plans:
- Escorting and securing the players of the Israeli football team, from Rinas airport to the hotel, the stadium and on the way back to Rinas;
- Escorting and securing the football players of the Albanian football team, in the stadium;
- Carrying out detailed control in the stadium premises and inside the stadium, for unauthorized persons, prohibited items and subjects, before the fans are accepted;
- Organizing checkpoints for sports fans before entering the stadium in the street “Dervish Hima”, “Lek Dukagjini”, “Gjergj Filipi”, “Pope John Paul II” and at the “Columns” in the square “Italy”;
- Supporting stewards during the control of sports fans before entering the stadium;
- Organizing services to guarantee public order before, during and after the football match, not only near the stadium, but also the control of the territory throughout the city of Tirana;
- Providing emergency service crossings;
- Road traffic management in the city of Tirana, before, during and after the football match.
In order to guarantee security before, during and after the development of this international match, we have paid special attention to the cooperation with all actors and factors that have a role in the progress of this activity, among which we mention:
- Albanian Football Federation;
- Municipal Police;
- Fire Service;
- Private security companies (stewards and security personnel);
- Hospitals, health centers and first aid.
We have also established contacts and are cooperating with the security service personnel of the Israeli football team, in order to increase safety standards before, during and after this international match.
For the progress of this activity, as well as to facilitate the circulation of vehicles in the city of Tirana, during June 10, 2022, from 16:00 until the end of the match, by the State Police, in cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana, will traffic restrictions are applied on some road axes near the stadium.
Special measures are foreseen and will be implemented for the control of the fans before entering the stadium, in order to prevent the entry of fireworks, flamethrowers, pyrotechnics and other solid items dangerous for the life and health of the participants, as well as the use and the trade of alcoholic beverages.
On this occasion we would like to remind all citizens that, according to the Criminal Code of our country, throwing solid objects on the field of play or over the mass of people, possession or use of pyrotechnics, fireworks, flamethrowers, during development of a sports activity, are punishable by imprisonment of six months to three years.
Also, according to the Criminal Code, violent actions in sports activities, such as: entering the field of play, during the development of sports activity, by unauthorized persons, constitutes a criminal offense and is punishable by a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 lekë. When this offense has hindered the normal development of sports activity, it is punishable by a fine or up to three months of imprisonment.
The State Police requires the understanding and cooperation of all citizens, for the implementation of the rules of entry and stay in the stadium, as well as the observance of restrictive measures for traffic, in order to ensure the smooth running of this activity.
In conclusion, we assure all citizens of the full readiness of the State Police structures, to guarantee security standards before, during and after this international match. ” said Laska.
