Dr. Pëllumb Pipero, invited to the show “Open” on Top Channel, has indicated when the third dose of the vaccine should be given.
He also did not rule out the possibility that the vaccine could be given every 6 months, as the only strong weapon for humanity if other variants after Omicron come into circulation.
“Each vaccine has its own protocol. The J&J vaccine that we do not have, the second dose is equivalent to the third dose of Pfizer is done after two months. As for Pfizer or Moderna, it is done after 5-6 months. I want to make it clear that the presence of antibodies is a very good weapon to not get infected and if we get infected we can easily pass Omicron. So we have to understand the third dose. The legalization of the fourth dose is also being discussed in Austria and Israel.
If this pandemic lasts a long time and if we will have other variants after Omicron, it will be necessary to have antibodies in circulation as ready-made weapons of defense. This means that maybe every six months we will have to get a vaccine. “There is no reason not to do it.” said Dr. Pipero.
