The Board of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) has announced that it has approved the proposal of Shkumbin Ahmetxhekaj, Acting General Director of RTK, for the dismissal of Mentor Shala from the position of Deputy General Director of RTK.
Also, the Board in its meeting approved the quarterly financial report for the reporting period October – December 2021.

During the performance of his duties at RTK, Shala has continuously and repeatedly violated the Law on RTK and the Internal Regulations of RTK, either by acting in violation of the law and internal acts or by not maintaining impartiality. , is stated, among other things, in the reasoning of the Acting General Director for dismissal approved by the RTK Board.
Draft decision on dismissal of Shala from the position of Deputy Director of RTK is based on Article 33 paragraph 1.2, Article 31 paragraph 2 subparagraph 2.2 and subparagraph 2.3 of Law 04 / L-046 on Radio Television of Kosovo (GZ no. 7, 27 April 2012), Article 8 paragraph 2, Article 19 paragraph 9, Article 20 paragraphs 12 and 14, Article 22 paragraph 1 and 2 of the Statute of the Radio and Television of Kosovo (No. 0001/22 dated 16.01.2022), Article 7 paragraph 2 of Regulation on Competencies and Responsibilities of Radio Television of Kosovo (no. 1355/17 dated 29.11.2017), Article 7 paragraph 1.1, 1.7 and 1.21 of the Regulation on Material and Disciplinary Responsibilities of RTK (no. 0736/18 dated 05.06 .2018) as well as the Decision of the Board of RTK with No. protocol 0005/22, dated 19.01.2022 for the dismissal of the General Director of RTK.
The RTK Board has approved the proposal of Shkumbin Ahmetxhekaj, Acting General Director of RTK for the appointment of Arsim Halili to the position of Acting Deputy General Director of RTK, until the selection of the candidate for this position according to the public competition, but not more than 6 months.
RTK Board in today’s meeting received in separate meetings representatives of the two unions of employees on television and radio, who presented their views regarding the public broadcaster, while the union SPRTK did not respond positively the invitation from the Board to participate in the meeting “, it is said in the announcement.
The RTK Board assured the RTK unions that it would address their concerns in accordance with RTK regulations regarding workers’ rights, signal transmission throughout the territory of Kosovo and other important issues. .
