Military salaries will increase by 30% starting next month.
The decision was approved at the government meeting, planned in the 2022 budget for the Ministry of Defense.
Different categories within members of the Armed Forces will benefit from this pay review.
With this salary increase, it is intended to achieve the objective required by the NATO military alliance, that by 2024 the budget for the Armed Forces is 2% of Gross Domestic Product and the salaries of members of the Albanian Armed Forces to be approximated with those of other countries that are part of it.
The government has also pledged to soon start building a Military Academy that will provide educational opportunities for young people who want to study and pursue a military career.
