Former Italian striker Paolo Di Canio has explained why he prefers Cristiano Ronaldo to Lionel Messi, calling the latter “an emotionless alien”.
Ronaldo and Messi have had opposite weeks, with the first scoring a hat-trick for Manchester United in the 3-2 win over Tottenham.
Messi, meanwhile, was part of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad, which capitulated against Real Madrid in the Champions League before being offended by fans in the match against Bordeaux.
Speaking about who is better between Ronaldo and Messi, Di Canio said that he believes that their attitudes over the last seven days are what divide them.
“Messi left the field scratching his head, he has no emotions. I prefer Cristiano Ronaldo, who said: ‘Do you want me to sit on the bench against Man City? I go back to Portugal, then I go back and score a hat-trick. ‘ “I prefer a man who has a soul, than foreigners without emotions”, – said the former football player for “Sky Sport Italia”.
