As our country is on the verge of electing a new head of state, lawyer Plarent Ndreca thinks that the new name should only serve the presidency of the republic and national unity.
Invited this evening to “Top Story” with Sokol Balla, Ndreca said that the current president set a dangerous precedent by behaving like a Constitutional Court.
“No one forbade the President of the Republic to take all the requests to the Constitutional Court, to file them when they were created to be examined and not to act as a court. This has not served the country, but has set a dangerous precedent. Today we have a decision of the Constitutional Court that counts dozens of violations of the president despite the decision to dismiss, this shows a negative record of how the presidents behaved, at least from 89 onwards.
Today, a president is needed to serve only the presidency of the Republic of Albania. Need a representative of national unity. The president should represent us in what unites us, not in what divides us“, Said Ndreca in the studio of Top Story.
