Metropol Theater presents the new premiere of “FLI”, a modern conception of Euripides’ work “Iphigenia in Aulida”

This work, the premiere of which will be staged today at 19:00 and will continue on April 29, 30, 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 May, is one of the most famous works of Euripides which includes intrigue, deception, political rivalry, war, revenge, conflict, ambition, self-denial in the main scenes of the tragedy.

Is war the right tool to resolve conflicts ?! Is the family “sacrificed” for a personal career ?! Is pride and glory worth more than reason ?! These are the lines and ideas on which the story of the play “FLI” revolves, whose characters are deeply involved in a political, philosophical, existential discourse on the war and its consequences, creating a clear picture of human identity, similarities and parallels. of this identity in different periods of time.

The Greek army has gathered in the port of Aulida. But the start of the war is inexplicably delayed. Agamemnon, the commander of this army, learns that the departure will only be possible if his daughter, Iphigenia, is sacrificed. Agamemnon devises a scheme to persuade the woman to send the girl, and while she waits she changes her mind. Iphigenia comes to the camp, and Agamemnon’s plan is revealed. The Greek army puts pressure and Agamemnon finally surrenders. Iphigenia when she sees that there is no hope makes the decision to go to the altar to be sacrificed.
