The Minister of Economy and Finance Delina Ibrahimaj in a live link on “Open” stressed that the Social Resistance Package approved by the government is for the entire population.
She opposed the protesters, stressing that this will help the citizens.
“The package is for the entire population, protesters have the right to protest to express their views, we are on the verge of an economic crisis, where the whole world will face. The policies of the region cannot be compared to ours because we are different. We have done an in-depth analysis of the measures, they are neither in motion nor in insistence, we have done the analysis of the whole consumer basket. There are also 210 thousand Albanians who will benefit from the increase of the minimum wage“, Said the minister.
Dozens of citizens have been gathering for six days in Tirana and other cities of the country protesting against the increase in the price of food and hydrocarbons.
The Social Resistance Package approved by the government is not the right measure according to the protesters, as the rest of the population has been bypassed.
Every day of the week they will meet at 17:00 in front of the Prime Minister, while Saturday will be a national march.
This revolt of citizens came after the immediate rise in the price of food products and hydrocarbons as a result of the war in Ukraine.
