Foreign tourists who will come to Albania or Albanians who want to go to the Mediterranean with their boats will have easier movement thanks to the establishment of a Mobile Border Post.
They will be registered both on entry and exit without having to appear at the ports of our country. The news was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, while he was in Durrës at the ceremony of handing over 5 new patrol boats and 2 high-tech surveillance devices for border protection, financed by the European Union through the IPA program.
“A good news for all sailors and sea users who want to come to Albania and who want to leave Albania to enjoy the shores of the Mediterranean, we will place a Mobile Border Post on the Albanian coast so that any vessel that will enter Albania, there is no need to go to one of the 3 border ports that Albania has, but it is enough to notify the point where it is and the border vehicle itself will come to carry out all the procedures for entering the territory of Albania.
Imagine in front of Drimadhes, a very populated beach in Dhërmi, there is the island of Othoni and a person who will come from Othonoi even to enjoy a lunch in Drimadhes where the distance with a normal motor vehicle is not more than 30-40 minutes, he is forced to go to Saranda, get the entry stamp to Albania and then come to Drimadhes. To eat lunch and then go to Saranda again to return to Othonoi”. Minister Çuçi declared.
Regarding the addition of 5 new vehicles to the Border Police fleet and the complete repair of 7 others, as well as the installation of 2 radars for surveillance of the blue border, the minister emphasized that this is a further step in the security of not only the borders of Albania, but in the security of Europe’s borders.
