Firefighters had to work for several hours in a row to completely extinguish the fire that engulfed the shopping center “Viva Fresh Store” in Ferizaj, Kosovo.
Police have confirmed that as a result of the fires there was significant material damage, while fortunately no injuries were registered.
The causes of the fire have not been clarified yet, but an investigation has been launched immediately on the event. According to local media, the fire was very large and instilled fear among residents.
The city has even heard several successive explosions that are suspected to have come from gas cylinders.
The greatest danger in those moments was that the fire would not reach a gas station, which happened nearby.
Firefighters’ efforts focused precisely on this area, and managed to avoid problems there. At one point, urgent help was sought from pumps in other cities, but now the situation has calmed down.
