Mother denies daughter of “ISIS bride” after affair with US congressman and marriage to jihadist in Syria (photos)

Tania Joya, mother of four raised in Middlesex, UK but now living in Texas with her second husband, she had an intimate relationship with Congressman Van Taylor after she met him during her work as a former ISIS extremist who tried to “deradicalize elements returned from the war.”

But her mother Jahanara Choudhury told MailOnline she knew nothing about her daughter’s affair after denying it 20 years ago when she left Britain to marry her first husband, the extremist John Georgelas.

In 2013, he had taken Miss Joya and their three children in northern Syria, where under the name Yahya Abu Hassan, she became one of the most important ISIS fighters. He was killed in the war in 2017.

Ms Choudhury, 65, complained: “I do not want to know about her and me and the rest of the family. “We cut off all communication when she married that man.”

“She is no longer my daughter and she has not been for a long time. “I regret that I was born.”

“He married against our will and we denied it.”

Ms Choudhry added that she had not followed up on reports of Joya’s affair with Van Taylor and that she was not “interested” in the news.

“No one in the family deals with it anymore. “She is no longer my daughter.”

After reports that Congressman Taylor was cheating on his wife Anne with the “ISIS bride”, the Texas-elected announced that he was stopping the campaign for re-election to the post.

Taylor, a former U.S. Marine and war veteran in Iraq, was considered one of the favorite Conservative candidates in 2018.

But a few days before the US primary he admitted to the Dallas Morning News network that he had an affair with Taylor from October 2020 to June 2021.

By the end of his relationship with Taylor, Joya said he had asked for financial help and he had given her $ 5,000 to pay off a debt./Daily Mail /
