All vehicle enthusiasts will have the opportunity from January 2022 to put their name on the license plate of vehicles.
The innovations for vehicle registration have been announced by the General Directorate of Road Transport, where for the first time drivers will have personalized license plates up to 7 characters, numbers or names that will be transferable from vehicle to vehicle, where the service will have an additional fee.
Other changes include the provision of small license plates for vehicles that have space limitation for the front, while from next year will be offered the American license plate format for vehicles that do not have enough space for the standard format in the rear, where for these services costs will be extra.
In the new format will also come motorcycle license plates to adapt to the standard space of the motorcycle manufacturer where the tariffs will not change but be the same as the current ones.
Drivers who have been equipped with license plates before March 1, 2010, must replace the old license plates with new models.
The changes for the registration of vehicles have received the approval of the government and after their publication in the official gazette, the Ministry of Infrastructure will issue regulatory acts which will determine the fees that drivers will have to pay for these services.
