The head of the Chamber of Criminal Lawyers, Saimir Vishaj has come out against the Chamber of Advocates which is not in favor of the new court map.

Honorable members of the Association of Criminal Lawyers of Albania, dear colleagues:
We have been informed by DHASH, that on 14.06.2022- 17.06.2022, the lawyers will be on strike, due to the changes that belong to the Judicial Map! After we, as President, together with the members have reviewed the changes brought by the new court map, we inform you that SHAPSH has decided “Not to be part of the strike organized by DHASH” for the following reasons:
1. The objective of this strike is not clear (the reason regarding the objections to the court map, with which we have been publicly known in the media for several months)
2. The strike period is very short and the damage it can cause, in relation to its purpose, is irrelevant.
3. SHAPSH, follows daily the problems related to the judicial system, the consequences of vetting and concludes that the interest of citizens prevails over the interests of lawyers and in these conditions does not oppose the New Judicial Map (as we value it as a solution for the continuation of trials ).
4. SHAPSH appreciates and instructs DHASH to raise issues with lawyers mainly, who are appointed according to the desire and will of prosecutors and the court.
5. SHAPSH, in coordination with foreign practices, considers that lawyers today should pass the competencies of the “Notary” (such as concluding contracts, opening the inheritance and acts of representation).
In conclusion, SHAPSH announces that it is against any strike which has a formal purpose and is not accompanied by convincing arguments regarding the new Judicial Map!
The Chamber of Advocates this Sunday has opposed the new court map that has fewer Courts of Appeal in the districts and in protest demands a boycott of the trials from Tuesday to Friday.
