In Montenegro, the number of people infected with the corona virus is increasing and the government is tightening entry rules.
Montenegrin health authorities announced at an extraordinary conference that from 2 January 2022 in Montenegro will be required at all border crossings along with confirmation of vaccination also negative PCR test, or rapid antigen test.
For Montenegrin citizens and foreigners, it is not enough just to have the proof that they have been vaccinated. To enter Montenegro, regardless of which border point, they must also prove that no more than six months have passed since receiving the second dose of the vaccine. However, the Minister of Health, Jelena Boroviniq-Bojovi., Said that Montenegrin citizens and foreigners can enter the country even without this evidence, but they must be isolated for ten days. This self-isolation may be discontinued no earlier than three days after a negative covidine test.
Montenegro has also introduced new measures regarding hotels and restaurants, such as submission of covid certificate.
Omikron spreads rapidly
Health authorities in Podgorica said 2,407 people had died since the outbreak of the pandemic in Montenegro. The director of the Institute of Public Health, Igor Galic, said that in the last two weeks an increase of 81 percent of new cases has been registered. According to him, Omikron breed is spreading rapidly and threatens to be dominant. According to him, in the last two weeks, out of the total number of those who lost their lives, over 75 percent have been unvaccinated.
