Billionaire Dmytro Firtash, who is a Ukrainian oligarch who got rich with the help of the Kremlin, has already turned against President Vladimir Putin and strongly condemns the war he has created in Ukraine.
He said in an interview that Putin could not win in Ukraine and that despite his power he would never triumph in this war.
“Either way, Russia will lose. It’s time to stop. There will be no victory. “The longer the war lasts, the worse it will be for the Russian people, not just the Ukrainian people.”
Firtash made his fortune selling Russian natural gas to Ukraine and is now fighting extradition to the US, where he faces charges of conspiracy and bribery. He has been under house arrest for the past eight years.
His denunciation comes after Oleg Tinkov, an oligarch who called Moscow’s “massacre” in Ukraine a “crazy war.” Oleg Deripaska has also called for an end to the war, without directly criticizing Putin.
