Boxing is a violent sport and those who practice it, always dare too much. The world of boxing also recognizes fatal cases where as a result of strong blows, athletes have lost their lives or have suffered irreparable damage.
One of the extreme cases happened recently, as two days ago an African boxer lost his life as a result of blows received in the ring.
The 24-year-old Simiso at a certain moment completely lost his orientation and started hitting in empty spaces, thinking that he was facing the opponent.
Realizing the situation, the referee stopped the game while the 24-year-old boxer was rushed to hospital where unfortunately he failed to survive.
But, already, troubles have started for the 24-year-old opponent who has received numerous threats and insults on social networks.
Mntungwa has indicated that he can no longer endure severe insults and that he has recently considered killing himself.
“I have faced a lot of criticism and insults on social networks since Simiso was hospitalized. But now that he has lost his life, insults, insults and threats have increased. I can not stand it anymore, I have only one solution left; to kill myself. Even my neighbors have spoken so ugly about me, I no longer feel safe. People need to understand that it’s not me who killed Simison, we did a boxing match and it was not a fight for life or death. I just wanted to win the title to change my life and my family. Now people consider me a killer, but I could have been the one who could have lost my life. “It’s sad, but I did not enter the ring with the intention of killing him.” said Mntungwa./ SuperSport
