The Speaker of the SP for Tirana, Erion Veliaj, declared from Kombinati that Tirana abandoned the opposition protest yesterday. In a meeting with SP structures in Unit 6, Veliaj said that, unable to fill the squares with people, the opposition brought empty buses to Tirana.
“When you see their protest filled with LED screens, as if it were Dua Lipa’s concert, you forget who is in the opposition. But, they come from Lalzi Bay, visit Tirana for protest and of course, they will return to Lalzi Bay again. The only ones who lie are the citizens who come from the districts in Tirana with half-empty buses,” said Veliaj. He also mocked the statements of the DP, which called for participation in the protest.
“Did you see our son-in-law that we have in PD? When they saw that no one had come out of Tirana, he came out to make a last call to them. He said: Let’s go to Tironsi, because the Clock of Tirana is full of 5-star hotels. Are you saying this is a bad thing! They also say that the clock was stuck for 4 years. When the Democratic Party and the SMI ruled Tirana, the Tirana Clock did not work for 4 years. When even the city clock is stuck, the biggest symbol of the rhythm we have to catch, it’s a great shame”, he said.
Veliaj stated that Tirana abandoned the opposition in protest, as the work done during these years clearly shows the difference between the two forces. According to him, Kombinat not only no longer suffers from the problem of burning garbage in Sharre, but Tirana also has 40 new schools.
“They said that the Combine should go out in protest for garbage. In their time, you couldn’t have an outdoor meeting that included a swirling cloud of garbage burning in Sawrë, a cancerous cloud over the city. Today is day and night. Those who legalized houses inside the Sharra cemetery ask the Kombinat to protest, then they are surprised why Tirana does not protest. Tirana does not protest that Tirana’s clock has not stopped, on the contrary, it is catching up with the lost clock. They said that Tirana should also come out in protest because the buses from the districts came to us half empty. To leave Tirana for education? We have built 40 new schools, they could not build a school when they had both the government and the municipality”, he expressed.
While comparing the opposition and the majority, Veliaj brought to attention January 21, where 4 innocent protesters were killed on the Boulevard. He said that when the SP governs, no protester is affected. “Criminals obviously return to the scene of the crime, because they cannot forget January 21. We don’t forget it either! It’s good to remember that they are on the road that they filled with blood, killing people.
They must remember that they are in a space where Albanian blood was shed for power. On the contrary, to tell you that when the SP governs, not only do they not dare to touch anyone, but in protests more policemen are injured than protesters”, said Veliaj, as he added that the philosophy of the SP is unity and passionate work for the city.
