Shkëlqim Tota, in the village of Cerkezë Morinë of Zallherri, has planted 1200 olive roots on the land rented by the state.
He says that for 11 years he has been dedicated to agriculture, but today is the first time he will apply to receive a subsidy from the National Scheme. Although the application can be made online via a smart phone on the e-albania portal, he preferred to knock on the door of the agro-point in Tirana.
“We too as olive growers can benefit from the oil scheme. Since the system is a bit overloaded I trusted the agro-point because I could make any mistakes over the phone“, Says farmer Shkëlqim Tota.
Ina Majaci: Hello, how were you? I came to apply for the oil scheme as I am a farmer and I have an olive grove.
Yes I definitely need the ID card, do not know if you own the land or rent it? I rent the contract.
Ina Majaci: Very well, then I also need the farmer Nipt.
To complete the application they must log in to e-albania as a business to benefit from the oil scheme to help farmers. First in the identification we enter the Farmer Nipt we set the password and ask for the service which is the National Scheme and in this case we have the application for fuel in agriculture. Click use and create a new application, then enter the address of the agricultural activity. Once we have established the property status immediately the system asks us to charge the lease agreement, so we also set up the orchard declaration. Once we have confirmed that each data is correct we click send. Application completed successfully.
So far over 18,000 farmers have applied to benefit from tax-free oil. The budget for agriculture of 3.2 billion Lekë, with the Social Resistance Package plus 500 million Lekë will be given to farmers for tax-free oil. But is this fund sufficient for Albanian agriculture?
“We are waiting for applications and the applications we have to date cover the applications. For some of the measures we have the principle of who applies first. The first one benefits if there are more applications than the budget makes available “says the director of ARDA, Eranda Selmanaj.
To benefit from the financial support from the National Scheme, farmers have the right to apply until March 25.
