This year, the 7th edition of the Kadare Literary Prize was ‘snatched’ among 21 manuscripts of the novel “Paper Pusulla”, by Vera Bekteshi with the motivation: “For the stylistic innovation in merging the voice of the author with that of the main character in a clear and original narrative, even though the character suffers from mental health problems.
This narrative in the first person comes through an authentic discourse unleashed by the stalemate of the chains of socialist realism, placed in a lexical register chosen by the author.
The work reveals the author as a tried and tested survivor, with an admirable tissue of resistance on both a vital and artistic level. ”
The award was announced today, February 27, in Llogara, within the event ‘Humanity Days’, organized by the European University of Tirana. The jury headed by Professor Diana Kastrati, researcher and translator, consisting of literary researcher from Prishtina Adil Olluri, professors Belina Budini, Irena Myzeqari and publicist Namir Lapardhaja, decided between 5 finalist works, in a recent confrontation between Durim Taçi and Vera Bekteshi.
