Physicist: Aliens come from ‘Dyson spheres’ orbiting dead galaxy stars (photos)

But if they exist, a new document says they may have originated from the ‘Dyson spheres’ orbiting the shells of dead suns “that are pervasive in our Milky Way galaxy”.

Ben Zuckerman, a professor of physics and astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley, says that this is where our efforts in search of extraterrestrials should focus, writes the LiveScience network.

“Based on the results of this research, astronomers can calculate how many advanced civilizations revolve around our galaxy,” he added.

Dyson spheres, which in theory are mega-structures that surround a star and absorb energy, were named after the physicist Freeman Dyson, who invented the idea in the 1960s.

Dyson fantasized about blocking the star’s light and harnessing its energy, but his model has not been proven to work. It is therefore easier to imagine advanced species that can build large rings or shields of solar panels to collect energy, because it is known that everything in the universe is about energy.

But no matter how advanced a civilization is, the ‘Dyson spheres’ will have a definite lifespan. so if a civilization rises around a typical star, one day it will fade away and remain a white, cold star.

So according to the expert, staying on the surface of a planet is not the most preferred option.

This means that aliens can gather their belongings and leave, to find a new system to parasitize, building a series of habitats to reap radiation or energy from various sources.

According to Zuckerman, it is unlikely that an alien civilization will travel to a new star to build a “Dyson Sphere” there.

Because they would build these megastructures for the stars where they settle and then turn into dead stars from absorbing energy.

Zuckerman argues that if astronomers search for Dyson spheres of dead stars, they can discover how many advanced civilizations can exist in the galaxy.

And his logic might work as astronomers have measured only a small fraction of the galaxy’s dead stars.

If aliens were to build Dyson absorbing spheres in their stars, we should be able to see one or more of them.

If we do not look at any then this greatly limits the number of alien civilizations. Either way Zuckerman says that during the age of the Milky Way, building Dyson spheres around white stars would be the most appropriate hypothesis, so research should focus on this.
