The pilot of a US military plane has lost his life after crashing during a mysterious mission in the California desert.
The US Navy confirmed today that one of their FA-18E Super Hornet aircraft had crashed near Trona.
The wreckage of the vehicle was found about 230 miles southeast of Lemoore Air Force Base, California.
No civilians or other people were injured in the incident.
The identity of the pilot will be revealed after 24 hours, said the US Navy.
In a statement, the spokesman said: “An F / A-18E Super Hornet fighter jet from Lemoore Air Force Base, near Trona, crashed yesterday, June 3, at around 2:30 p.m.
“The death of the pilot has been confirmed but his identity will be revealed later until the family members are notified.”
Lemoore Air Force Base is one of the newest and largest aircraft aircraft in the United States.
This is where the Pacific Fleet Defensive Squadrons are stationed.
