The first plenary session of the second session of the tenth legislature of the Albanian Parliament started with tensions this Monday.
It was MP Edmond Spaho who spoke first in this session, opposing the decision of the Democratic Party to expel from the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party four MPs who have come out in support of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
In his speech, Spaho stressed that he had not thought that one day an order would come that Lulzim Basha would bring the time of dictatorship, referring to his expulsion from the parliamentary group of this party.
He said that he could not exclude Basha from the party, according to him, the man who introduced criminals in the headquarters of the Democratic Party and fired tear gas at the supporters of this political force.
“I never thought that Lulzim Brava would bring us the time of dictatorship when people are expelled from the Assembly. I am waiting for him to inform me now about the village where he will deport me. No one can exclude me from the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party. I am not excluded from the one who introduced criminals in the PD Headquarters and hit the PD supporters with tear gas. Democrats have no future with this, with a man who has lost 4 pairs of elections and is sold as the future of the Democrats. The day will come, do not remember that he has it far away. Citizens will give what this man deservesSaid Spaho.
After Spahos, MPs Oerd Bylykbashi and Flamur Noka also reacted, opposing the decision to expel them from the PD parliamentary group.
Bylykbashi, referring to the regulation, said that the deputy leaves the parliamentary group of his own free will.
“The Regulation and the Constitution do not provide for any restrictions in this regard. This can not be done otherwise a dangerous precedent is set“, Said Bylykbashi.
Noka, referring to the Speaker of the Assembly, stressed that he has received an order from Edi Rama, that the lock association be treated with special love.
“You have received orders from the head of the regime that the association of locks, latches and bolts be treated with special love by you. You need this association because without it you are finished. Only then do you put the opposition in the bag and control pluralism. No one determines the affiliation of the deputies except the voterSaid Flamur Noka.
DP, officially announced today the Assembly for the new composition of the parliamentary group, after the dismissal of four Democratic MPs.
The letter states that MPs Albana Vokshi, Flamur Noka, Luan Baci and Edmond Spaho, by decision of the parliamentary group, after disciplinary measures taken by the Presidency of the Democratic Party, are no longer part of this group.
We recall that the four PD deputies have been in support of Sali Berisha for the dismissal of Lulzim Basha, as chairman of this party.
Among other things, it is clarified that in the meeting held on Saturday, Enkelejd Alibeaj was elected as chairman of the parliamentary group, a post previously held by Alfred Rushaj. While Agron Gjekmarkaj has been proposed as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, replacing Alibeaj.
Several changes have also been proposed in the Committees, Councils, Bureau of the Assembly and in the composition of the permanent delegations of the Assembly to international organizations.
The first parliamentary session for 2022 will start at 17:00 and will be attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At the end of his one-day visit to Albania, Erdogan will deliver a welcoming speech in the Albanian Parliament. This is his first visit abroad this year.
