Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that the country must prepare for the new wave of coronavirus, driven by the “Omicron” variant.
Focusing on the pandemic, at the year-end press conference, Rama spoke about the need to review the restrictive measures, in order to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
“So far we have managed, guaranteeing a pretty life free from the constraints and giving the economy a chance to fly, to get out of the abyss where we were last year.
Today we are in the conditions where we have to prepare for a new wave, from the new variant of Covid (Omicron) that is closing other countries. We will not hurry, we just need to know that we can not pass it as if nothing is happening. Perhaps some measures should be taken, without tightening the chain of life and economy”.
The Prime Minister spoke about a better health service. Today, he said, we have 56 new ambulances, which has led the fleet to an optimal number, while “Infectious Hospital will be rebuilt from the ground up and will have all the conditions.”
