16:00 this Sunday was the deadline for submitting candidates for the first round of the election of the new president on Monday in parliament.
No candidacy has been submitted to the assembly secretariat. In such conditions, the first round today at 17:00, will take place without having a name to vote.
Despite the lack of a name the first round under the constitution will be called exhausted to give way to the second round.
It will be the presidents’ conference on Tuesday which sets the date for the second round.
The negotiating table in the week we are leaving behind, between the socialist troika Balla, Spiropali and Gjiknuri and the leaders of the two parliamentary groups did not produce names.
The pressure is increasing to find one or more names to vote in the second round which requires 84 votes.
