The increase of prices in December reached the highest level in 11 years, exceeding the target of the Bank of Albania.
Businesses in the country are reflecting on the energy crisis that has gripped Europe and the supply chain crisis coming from China. Business analyst Mira Pogaçi says that these prices are not expected to decrease.
According to the Bank of Albania, the share of imported inflation in the total price increase in Albania increased significantly in the third quarter of the year, reaching 54%, which is pushing up the price increase.
The situation could become even worse if the energy crisis continues after six months as it is expected that in June about 7 thousand businesses will buy it in the open market at four times higher prices.
