The basket products monitoring board has set new prices for rice, flour and sugar.
According to his decision, the rice will be sold for 101 lek per kg, 8 lek less than it was.
The price of sugar has also decreased by about 17 lek and citizens will buy it in markets and supermarkets for 104 lek / kg.
While the flour will be bought more expensive because with the last decision this product will be sold for 90 lek / kg, from 79 lek that was.
As for oil, one of the most expensive products in the basket, unlike previous decisions, the Board announces that it will no longer set a ceiling price, arguing that according to it the purchase prices from importers are different.
With the last decision, the Board set the price of oil at 381 Lekë per liter, but this product is sold even more expensively for consumers.
“Because different operators have significant differences in the purchase prices of imported sunflower oil, the average average cost of customs clearance will not be applied and no unified selling price will be set by each entity, but each importer of oil. inbotted or importing oil that inbottles and packages in the country, will apply the allowed margin on the cost of importing their product according to the customs declaration “writes the Board of Transparency for food products.
The board decision takes effect from June 10 and these awards are valid until its next meeting.
The government has already approved a sovereign guarantee line of ALL 3 billion for food importers to guarantee the maintenance of safety reserves for a period of 3 months.
This decision is mandatory for all entities that wholesale / retail these products and in case of violation they will face fines.
Any economic operator trading the following products, whether importer, wholesaler, carrier or retailer, is free to apply lower prices on these products than those set by the Board.
The majority of entities that do not respect the decisions of the board will be penalized with fines up to 10 million ALL, while for small traders the administrative measure will be 2 million ALL. Repeated violations will be punished by closure of the activity until the seizure of the goods.
For months, our country has been facing rising prices of basic products for living and hydrocarbons, oil, gasoline and gas.
This situation comes after the rise in international prices, as a result of the war in Ukraine which started on February 24 this year.
