Today, Tirana joins the initiative of the largest capitals in the world, where since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, manifestations of solidarity with the Ukrainian people have been organized.
Among dozens of citizens were students, the national athletics team of Ukraine, the march was attended by Fatmir Xhafaj, Yuri Kim and the Ambassador of Ukraine and the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj.
Announced to start now at noon, this march paralyzes traffic in some segments in the center of Tirana.
The Municipality of Tirana, in cooperation with the State Police and the Municipal Police, has taken all measures to restrict the movement of vehicles on some streets of the capital from 12:00 to 15:00.
There will be restrictions in the following segments:
• “Bajram Curri” Boulevard, the segment from the intersection with “Ibraim Rugova” street to “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard.
• “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, the segment from the intersection with “Bajram Curri” Boulevard to the intersection with “Ismail Qemali” Street.
• “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, the segment from “Skënderbej Square” to “Bajram Curri” Boulevard (temporarily in the time interval during the march).
The traffic of vehicles, emergency vehicles and the State Police will be done, in the following axes:
• “Ibrahim Rugova” Street, “Zan D’Ark” Boulevard, “Ismail Qemali” Street and Papa Gjon Pali Street
The itinerary of the movement of urban line vehicles will continue the movement as follows:
• The ring line will be diverted to the bridge of the Police Directorate and to the bridge of “Elbasan” street.
• The “New Tirana” line will deviate to “Wilson” square and “UFO”.
