Dozens of citizens of the city of Kukës protested today over the increase in the price of oil and basic food products.
Located along the main street of Kukës, protesters are demanding lower prices, which have risen in recent days, as well as higher wages, to make a living.
Some of the protesters who make different lines to the cities of Albania but also in Europe suggest that due to the increase in the price of oil they have been forced to increase the price of tickets.
The protest was organized by the citizens themselves, which was announced in the evening hours of yesterday.
Although some residents were protesting, many of the vehicles moving on the city’s main road chose not to join the protest.
Since the beginning of the protest, dozens of police have been deployed along this road to monitor the protest called by the citizens.
Let us remember that the municipality of Kukës is one of the poorest in Albania, where about 5420 families are treated with economic assistance, as well as many other families emigrate to different European countries to provide livelihood.
