Svitiana Luzina is a Ukrainian who joined the peaceful protest that took place today near the Russian embassy where messages of solidarity were distributed to the Ukrainian people.
Svitiana finds it impossible to go to Kiev where she has her 8-year-old son and two parents, but in the midst of this difficult situation she hopes to be able to go near her family.
“I am from Kiev, I have parents and a son there, he is 8 years old. I am here in Albania because my husband works at the Ukrainian embassy and I am here with him. “I will certainly leave for Ukraine but now it is not possible but I believe I can go there maybe next week.”
Although it was hard to believe that such a thing would happen, now Svitlana’s hope lies with the Russian people, where according to her they are the only ones who can stop the attacks that have started.
“I have communication with my son and my parents. I try to hold the phone in my hand all the time. It is a very difficult situation. Yesterday I told my husband that it is not possible but today that we see what happened, it is a very difficult situation. “I believe that only Russian citizens can stop it and please do not fight, I believe that everything will be fine, hope.”
With the phone in her hand all the time, Svetlana tries to give strength to her family who are in Kiev.
“It’s very difficult to hear, read or get information from parents. There is no room for panic. It is not easy but I understand that panic is also an enemy, so we must be strong, we must be strong. “
