A Canadian farmer has recorded himself holding a wild lynx by the skin of his neck as he criticizes him for the massacre he had just committed in the chicken coop.
Chris Paulson, from the British Columbia region, said he had interrupted the feral cat known as ‘Canadian links’ as he was killing chickens and trying to scare him away.
“I tried to drive him away, but he was so focused on his prey that I lifted him by the skin of his neck, as cats do with their puppies,” Paulson told CBC.
He had then raised the 11-pound lynx over the coop where he had killed two of the farmer’s chickens.
“Now let’s look at the damage you’ve done,” Paulson tells the lynx, who growls angrily at him. “How many chickens did you eat, because you were caught by the young ones! This is not a good thing “, the farmer’s criticism can be heard on camera.
Chickens still terrified by the animal are heard cackling in the background. “Look how upset you all are, because he killed two, two of the young chickens,” Paulson tells him.
But even though the lexii teeth were only a few inches away from the farmer’s face, he says he does not bother holding it by the skin of the neck.
“In this way, their mothers subdue their little ones when they become troublemakers. “As if they are numb and do not resist.”
Paulson goes on to say that he put the cat in a dog cage, before transporting it away from his home on Lake Decker in Prince George, and then released it back into the wild. Many other farmers shoot predators that attack their crops on similar occasions.
Paulson, with his wife and two children, have lived in the Wet’suwet’en indigenous population for almost a century.
Jeff Palm, the local wildlife defense official, said he did not recommend Paulson’s capture of wildlife.
“We do not recommend capturing wildlife by hand. The Canadian lynx is a wild animal and can become very ferocious. It is also illegal to catch wildlife and move them to another location. “This could result in a fine,” said the official.
