Residents whose homes and dormitories were damaged by the November 26 earthquake complain that the reconstruction process is being carried out in part.
Finally, there are the residents of the palace no. 1187-1188 in the neighborhood no. 16, where 54 families live. They say they have received compensation only to fix the interior of the apartments, while the exterior walls are unregulated, leading to damage to any investment.
“We fixed it inside, but the humidity, the mold, drowned us. They came and painted the wall from the outside and that’s it. I went and complained, but no one told me anything, they escorted me”.
Assessed with the degree of damage DS2, the building continues to show problems even after the intervention that according to residents has consisted only in painting.
“I have arranged them myself. These come and paint and spoil us, because moisture enters every time it rains. They came and painted from the outside, just paint. We were told to throw away 500 thousand lekë to be fixed”.
In Durrës there are many cases when residents raise their voice for more responsibility during the performance of works and real needs assessment by the local government.
