Citizens can register their residential address in a project initiated by the Ministry of Interior.
In the awareness campaign with the support of the project “Strong Municipalities”, you can register:
Civil status services (personal certificate, birth registration, marriage certificate). You can not register your newborn baby without having a valid residential address. You can also not register your child in kindergarten if you do not have a registered residential address in the system.
Postal service (judicial system, education system, banking system, fiscal system). Many services of this nature are accessible online without the need to wander around the offices and waste time, but to benefit from these services a prerequisite is to have a registered residential address.
Public services (Fire protection service, Medical Emergency service). Although these structures have more sophisticated mechanisms to reach you in case of an emergency, having an accurate residential address is of course easier for them as well.
Citizens living outside the territory of Albania also benefit from civil status services here in their home country, but also in our diplomatic and consular missions around the world. Without a residence address you can not formalize your relationship with the home country just as they have formalized it with the countries where they have lived and worked for years. There are two ways to register a residential address. First through the portal ‘eAlbania’ with a simplified procedure that is performed in a few minutes. Second, by presenting yourself at the Civil Registry offices of the municipality where you live.
Today in the National Register of Addresses are about 750 thousand families with a declared and verified address.
