Every time we turn on the lights we are reminded of the lights bill. A bill that is getting more and more expensive.

How much more expensive? Simple. Two years ago, every minute that this light bulb was on cost twice as much on the lights bill. Today to keep it on for a minute (pause a bit), we need to think twice.

If before in the energy market a megawatt was bought for 90 euros, today its price is around 200 euros. This in the energy bill or as it is otherwise known the electricity bill for family members has not brought any change. Under government safeguards they paid a fee of 9.5 lek per kilowatt / hour, and the same today, although market prices set a cost more than double that of buying energy.

Those who are feeling the salty energy bill are the Businesses. Excluding bakeries, which are price-protected by government measures, others have begun to feel this doubling. Our country, although it reached a record of energy production last year, still needs to import 30% of its needs. This is because the excess quantity produced from water resources could not be reserved, but was immediately taken out for export.

The energy price crisis that began last year caused the country to spend 240m euros, while high spending continues.

In the first two months of this year alone, an average of 60 million euros were spent to buy energy.

According to expert Lorenc Gordani, in order to cope with the energy price crisis, the government should divide the sector into bands and set preferential prices for some industries, especially after the outbreak of the armed conflict in Ukraine:

“The government should set preferential tariffs for flour mills and for those in the field of food industry. “All other companies need to understand that they can not permanently avoid energy costs and the burden must be shared.”

Despite the safeguards imposed by the government, they appear to be insufficient, while energy purchase prices may become unaffordable. In these conditions, in the face of the alternative of paying the bills that become more expensive every month, there is only one way: save!
