Russian forces have entered Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, city officials have reported as Russia continues fighting in the country.
The head of the Kharkiv regional administration, Oleg Sinegubov, said on Sunday, February 27, that military equipment “entered the city” on the fourth day of the occupation.
The reports were confirmed by Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who published on the Telegram platform some images showing Russian cars moving.
Sinegubov has urged residents to stay inside, saying Russian troops appear to be in the city.
“Do not leave the places where you are sheltered! The Ukrainian Armed Forces are eliminating the enemy. “Civilians should not take to the streets.”
Moscow’s attack on Ukraine began in the early hours of February 24.
The missiles were fired at airports and military infrastructure in about 25 cities.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a “special operation” to demilitarize Ukraine.
The Kremlin action has sparked outrage and been condemned around the world.
The United States and its allies have responded with harsh sanctions against Moscow.Rel
