Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that NATO has not shown the necessary determination for the situation in Ukraine and that the West’s attitude towards it is not friendly at all.
“The West, the EU and NATO have not shown determination towards Ukraine. Everyone gives advice. The West’s attitude towards Ukraine cannot be considered friendship or solidarity“, The president told reporters in Istanbul.
He noted that “advice does not affect the resolution of the situation”.
“We are talking to our partners, asking what Europe has done, is doing or will do in addition to empty advice. Nothing. Nothing can be changed this way. We will discuss what can be done at today’s NATO summit“, Said Erdogan.
He expressed the conviction that concrete decisions will be taken after the Alliance Summit.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday morning that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in response to a call from the leaders of the separatist republics of Donbas.
The Russian leader stressed that Moscow’s plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories.
The Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian army is not hitting the cities of Ukraine or the civilian population, but only the military infrastructure.
