Kuleba said it was now increasingly understood that Ukraine was not only fighting for its own security, but for that of NATO allies.
Kuleba: You provide us with everything we need, and we will fight for our safety and your safety, so that President Putin will not have the opportunity to test Article 5 of the alliance.
Following the foreign minister’s statement, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance would certainly help Ukraine, but avoided giving a concrete answer on the specifics of the weapons NATO would send to Ukraine.
Stoltenberg: I understand you want a specific answer to the types of weapons. But I think it is important to understand that it is better not to be specific but be sure that the Allies are offering a wide range of defense systems. NATO has supported Ukraine for many years since the illegal annexation of Crimea and the first Russian invasion in 2014 also in the Donbas and we will continue to do so.
Stoltenberg also warned that the war could last for months and possibly years, adding that NATO would also help other partner countries, including Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to strengthen their ability to defend themselves.
