The US Embassy in Albania reacted after the meeting between Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar with Albanian political officials.
Through a reaction on social networks, the Embassy writes that senior US officials reconfirmed the United States’ support for Albania’s membership in the European Union and urged the continuation of the necessary reforms.

As part of her visit to the Western Balkans, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar were in Albania on 28 and 29 April. They met with Prime Minister Edi Rama, various ministers, and opposition leaders.
