Italian businessman Francesco Bechetti has appealed the decision of the Tirana court, which sentenced him to 17 years in prison.
The businessman was found guilty of the criminal offenses of “Forgery of documents” -performed in cooperation-, “Theft by abuse of office” -performed in cooperation-, “Creating fraudulent schemes related to VAT” and “Laundering the proceeds of crime”.
The electronic lottery for the appointment of the rapporteur of the case will be cast on 29.04.2022, at 14:30.
Along with the Italian businessman, the court sentenced his collaborators to prison. Becchetti is currently on the run, and an international detention order has been issued for him.
