Arben Grori, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Naim Zyberi in Italy, continues to face the courts for a review of the decision.
Some time ago, Grori addressed the Criminal Court of Tirana with a request for review of the foreign sentences he committed outside Albania.
Because Grori’s defense lawyers did not appear, the request was deemed inadmissible by the court and dismissed.
Since 2019, Grori had turned to the courts with a request to retry once again the decision that recognized the sentence of life imprisonment of the Italian court for the murder of Naim Zyberi.
The case went through several levels of the judiciary and was accompanied by successive adjournments and removal of judges.
Arben Grori was convicted for the murder of Naim Zyber in 1999 in a hospital in Italy in revenge for the murder of his brother.
He was also found guilty of drug trafficking as part of an organization operating in Italy.
