One of the journalists said that Serbia took over a Chinese missile system, implying the influence of China, which has decided not to speak out against the Russian attack on Ukraine.
“As for third parties in the Western Balkans, I would say that they are not the same and we are not known to have concerns about the influence of third countries in the same way. Russia’s influence in our country is a problem, especially in today’s conditions. The most intensive engagement of the EU, the effort by the EU to bring all EU countries closer, China is a country that has its stated goal throughout Europe, the former Eastern Europe, has a special format of China called 17 + 1 with these countries, an investment project. Albania does not have a special relationship with either of them. There is no Russian influence, while China’s is minimal. In my view Turkey is a valve for the whole of Europe. There is no reason to see in those countries anything but friends who are welcomed in Albania to make investments. “Their presence is much lower than exaggerated in media articles.”said Rama.
