Serbian Minister for Human Rights and Minorities in Serbia, Gordana Comic has come out in support of Kosovo with her statement that the European Union should liberalize visas for Kosovar citizens.
“Brussels must approve visa liberalization for Kosovo,” she was quoted as saying by Tanjug, while also stressing that Brussels should also open membership negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania.
“Let us not forget that the peace project was the basic idea of the union“, Said the minister.
In October, the European Parliament criticized the EU for failing to meet its obligations to the Western Balkans.
The lack of visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo and the start of membership talks with Albania and Northern Macedonia have been mentioned as the most frequent evidence that the EU is not doing what is expected of it.
These processes have not been finalized yet, although the European Commission has repeatedly confirmed that all three countries have met the criteria required by them.
