The Serbian newspaper Novosti gives the alarm that the Albanians are becoming stronger and that the Kosovo army is being strengthened through the money of emigrants.
The idea belongs to Ramush Haradinaj, she wrote, who said earlier that “the Kosovo Army needs 10 billion euros.
The current budget of 100 million euros is not enough to have an army capable of defending against potential aggressors.
The Assembly of Kosovo should issue a law on a fund for assistance to the Kosovo Army and for donations of Albanians wherever they are, in their ethnic lands or in the diaspora, for the Kosovo Army ”.
This statement of the AAK leader and former Prime Minister of Kosovo, has raised concern in Belgrade.
Novosti quotes Ljuban Karan, a former Serbian military counterintelligence officer, as emphasizing that arming the Albanian security forces in Kosovo, no matter how dangerous, “is not the only threat to Serbia and the Serbian people.”
According to him, the biggest risk is to create the right atmosphere for the future, “Kosovo Army” to be among NATO members.
“Novosti emphasizes the fact that Turkey, but also Croatia and some Western countries, remain loyal donors to the Kosovo Army, while recalling that so far in Pristina have arrived mainly military vehicles, infantry weapons and equipment”, but says that there are data that is also being worked on the purchase of the most important military armaments such as aircraft, missiles and artillery equipment.
